This is Springheel! He's an exclusive Legendary Windshrike I recieved from NightmareRebuff by writing a short story. He also comes equipped with an adorable hat.

And the short story I wrote to get him:
[Isle of Night - 8:27 A.M - Dream and Rahia]

Normally, the Isle of Night was completely peaceful, with the island's desolate area not catching passing dragons and vikings attention. Nothing was ever suspected of the small, eerily silent island and the Night Furies living there hid and watched whenever a few stray humans and dragons came onto the island. Already knowing this, it was a completely morbid, sick and horrible surprise when a group of humans, calling themselves the 'Outcasts' sent a few hundred Monstrous Nightmares to the island with the command to kill any Night Fury they could find; to try and wipe out the species.

"Get out, fly away and don't stop flying! I'll follow after you!" Dream spat, his dark purple and blue scales gleaming an almost eerie silver in the light pouring into the cave."I'd rather die leave you, thanks," Rahia hissed in return, swiping her already blood-stained claws at a dark red Monstrous Nightmare, sending him crashing into the stony walls of the cave. Dream hissed furiously at the grey Night Fury, Rahia, shoving her towards the cave entrance with his wing.

Rahia spat in annoyance as her back claws slipped on the grass in the entrance, spinning herself back around and lunging at the two Monstrous Nightmares now slashing at Dream. She hopped up on the orange Nightmare's back, and sunk her retractable fangs into its unprotected neck. It reared backwards, roaring furiously, crashing onto its back, pressing Rahia into the stone, cave floor below it. She hissed and tucked her claws into the Nightmare's shoulder and heaved herself out from underneath it. She slashed my claws twice at it, getting its eye on the first strike and tearing out a clawful of scales on the second.

The Nightmare yelped slightly in pain, lashing out wildly and, just as Rahia had did to him, tore a gash over her left eye before he flew out of the cave. He was quickly and, unfortunately for Dream and Rahia, replaced by a green Monstrous Nightmare and a blue one. Rahia was about to jump for the green one when Dream's sharp roar cut her off. She whipped my head around, confused, to look over her shoulder instinctively to see the other Monstrous Nightmare, with its fangs dug into Dream's right foreleg, its back claws tearing at his small back spines. Before Rahia could've even hoped to do anything, the blue Nightmare crashed down on her back, and she was pretty sure she heard the bones in her wings or legs snapping.

Rahia tried to twist her head back around, to bite or claw at the Nightmare on her back, but to no avail. Dream snarled, and raised his left foreleg, clawing at the Nightmare's eyes. The Nightmare released Dream after several seconds, letting out enraged roars of pain. Dream scrambled to his feet, flung open his wings and jumped at the Nightmare on Rahia's back, knocking it off easily. She shoved herself back up to her feet tiredly, relieved to have the unwanted weight off her back. Her left side had a large burn mark now, while her wings, shoulders, tail and left eye were bleeding, though no where as bad as Dream.

Dream's right eye was shut and bleeding, his right foreleg was bleeding heavily from where the Nightmare's fangs had been, his back had large gashes along it- thankfully nowhere near his wings, the edges of his base tail-fins were only slightly torn, and he was bleeding from various spots on his neck, while his tail was scorched by a Monstrous Nightmare's fire.

Rahia shook her head slightly, beginning to feel light-headed from the loos of blood, and the burns definitely weren't helping that. Rahia raised her wings and lunged unsteadily towards the green Monstrous Nightmare. Dream was still locked in a fight with the blue Nightmare, though thankfully, she could see that he was obviously winning. She dug her claws into the green Nightmare's left wing, dragging it to the ground.

Unfortunately, her lack of blood was starting to affect her even more now, and Rahia quickly lost the grip on the Nightmare's wing. The green Monstrous Nightmare roared at her, launching a blast of fire at me. She barely managed to dodge to the side, my feet slipping on the blood-soaked floor. The Monstrous Nightmare reared up, its right leg drawn up with the claws extended. She stared, dazed, for a split second before I realized that the Nightmare was most certainly going to kill me. Rahia frantically flung herself dizzily out of the way, a small burst of triumph going through her mind as the Monstrous Nightmare's claws became lodged in the floor.

Dream, ducking a swipe from the blue Nightmare, darted over to Rahia, shoving her out of the cave. "Start flying, and this time, actually do it," Dream hissed quickly, already in the air and trying to pull Rahia up with him. Rahia merely nodded, frantically flapping her wings as Dream flew just a few feet ahead of her. Out of the corner of her eye, Rahia could see a Night Fury, off in the distance, flying away from the island. At least another of their kind was safe. Just to add to their list of inconveniences, however, and because the universe was a troll, it had begun storming; thunder, lightning and rain. The universe seemed determined to make Night Furies suffer at the moment.

The second Dream and Rahia were a few meters away from the island, Dream dove downwards, vanishing into the salt water below. Confused and still disorientated, Rahia flew swooped downwards as well, resisting a pained hiss as the salt water stung her still-bleeding wounds. She flew back up into the air quickly, almost immediately joined by Dream. "It'll wash off the blood for now," Dream muttered quickly, most likely predicting what Rahia had wanted to ask. She nodded dizzily, trying to keep up with Dream as he continued flying.

The two Night Furies continued flying, determined to get as far away from the the Isle of Night, now infested with Monstrous Nightmares. Luck just wasn't on their side, however; after passing four islands, all very far from the Isle of Night, Rahia finally gave in to the dizziness and slight blood loss, dropping backwards and plummeting out of the gray, rain-filled sky.

[Unknown Island - 8:59 A.M - Dream]

Dream didn't know when it started storming, didn't know when he'd lost Rahia in the storm, didn't know where he was actually.

He just knew that he had to flee from the Isle of the Night, he couldn't stay there. He couldn't stay there and die like the other Night Furies, killed by those Monstrous Nightmares. He couldn't let Rahia die with them. He had meant to protect Rahia, not lose her. He had no idea of where she could have flown to, other than the Isle of the Night simply because they'd never been anywhere but the Isle of the Night.

Flapping his deep purple wings harder against the heavy rain and wind, he only slightly noticed several more islands coming into view. He couldn't see through the rain that seemed to determined to get in his eyes, but he knew that an island meant possible safety right now. Dream stilled his wings until he came to a slow stop, flapping them heavily in attempt to keep himself in the air.

Sucking in a half-frightened, half-relieved breath, Dream dove downwards towards the island. He landed roughly, tumbling over his front paws and crashing onto his right side, just barely managing to raise his right wing to keep it from taking the impact. Hissing furiously under his breath and cringing in pain, Dream shoved himself to his feet, quickly stumbling and staggering away from the shoreline he'd landed on and towards the vast expanse of trees that made up the island.

Once under the safety of the leaves that kept the rain from striking him, he pressed himself close to the trunk of a particularly large tree, curling himself into a tight ball as he stared passed the line of trees and towards the ocean. Rain continually hit the water in an rhythm-like pattern, refusing to stop and coming down even harder when Dream wondered when the storm would pass. Awkwardly trying to adjust so his wounds didn't burn painfully, he finally slipped in a somewhat comfort position that let his wings, at the very least, feel like they weren't on fire.

Lowering his head to his paws and pulling his left wing over his head, Dream fell into a harsh sleep, polluted with nightmares of him not being able to protect and save Rahia.

[The Following Morning - Unknown Island - 9:54 A.M - Dream, Night and Bright]

"D'ya think he's dead..?" An unfamiliar voice asked, the sound being muffled by Dream's wing. "Probably. I mean, he looks dead. Dead and soaked and seriously hurt. Yeah, he's definitely dead." An equally unfamiliar voice agreed in a higher pitch than the other. 'What..? Are they talking about me..? I'm not dead!' Summoning a tiny amount of strength, Dream reluctantly dragged his wing away from his face, cringing as dull sunlight struck his eyes.

"He isn't dead, look. He's moving!" The first voice squawked chirpily. Now being able to see the strange, high-pitched voices, Dream frowned at the two dragons in front of him. Standing a foot away from him were two Terrible Terrors. The first was a dark blue while the second was a ridiculously bright blue color. The dark blue one had deep purple eyes, while the bright one had bright purple eyes.

"You were out since yesterday afternoon until now," the dark blue Terror explained, sitting down and tilting his head curiously. "So we made sure nothing tried to get you in your sleep!" The bright blue Terror exclaimed, bouncing about on her feet excitedly. I nodded slightly, staring at the two in confusion. "Right...Anyways, I'm Bright," The dark one- Bright- said, gesturing to himself with one paw. "And that's my sister, Night." The bright blue one- Night- nodded happily as she sat down next to her brother. I nodded. "I'm Dream."

"And you're...Bright?" Dream continued, amused. Were these Terrors parents' blind or something? Bright nodded, twitching his wings upwards in a not-too-subtle hint of amusement. "Yeah. Sometimes I think we were named wrong," Bright replied, a smile flickering across his face before it vanished again. "You kept yelling 'Rahia' while you were sleeping," Night piped up, staring intently at him, clearly awaiting an explanation as to why he had been doing that.

Dream seemed confused, tiliting his head, cyan eyes narrowing at the name. Painful remembrance of yesterday flashed into his mind and Dream shot to his feet, wings and ear-fins spiking outwards. "Rahia?! Do you know where she is? She's a Night Fury, too!" Bright and Night both jumped backwards, baffled, though Bright regained his calm stance almost immediately. "We haven't seen any other Night Furies- other than you. What does she look like?" I blinked, quickly stating, "She's... dark grey, bright green right eye, blind left eye and the tips of her ear-fins are light grey." Night shook her head. "We haven't seen a dragon like that, sorry." Dream's ear-fins and wings dropped back down at that as he sat back down.

"We could help you find your friend though," Bright commented. Dream turned my head towards him, pupils sliding into slits at that. "Yeah!" Night added. "We know a Deadly Nadder who can help. He's really good at finding things! And we can fit into small spaces, so we could look EVERYWHERE!" Night continued, practically screeching the word 'everywhere' as she dragged out the syllables and spun in excited circles.

Dream's ear-fins raised slightly as he tilted his head, forcing himself up to his feet. "Where's this Deadly Nadder friend of yours then? I'd rather find Rahia alive now then find her corpse later," Dream muttered, flinching at the mere thought. Bright and Night nodded in perfect unison, turning and padding quickly, further into the mass of trees and bushes scattered around the island.

Dream followed the two sibling Terrors wordlessly, glad that they at least were just walking and not flying; he honestly wasn't sure if he'd even be able to fly without feeling a horrid, stabbing pain any time soon.

[The Current Morning - Unknown Island - 8:59 A.M - Rahia (Storm) and Verai]

Verai, a soft, sandy brown and mud brown Sand Wraith, swam silently through the still water, awkwardly managing to stay afloat while tugging the unconscious Night Fury she'd found, thankfully not drowned, in the water. The Night Fury's wings had been fully spread open, and air had caught under her wings and managed to keep her floating rather than causing her to sink and drown.

Verai let out a tiny, triumphant crowing noise, dragging herself up onto the sandy shoreline of the island she lived on. She carefully grasped the Night Fury by the scruff, pulling the dark grey body up onto the sand. Verai paced worriedly around the Night Fury, who was slightly smaller than her. The Night Fury was breathing, although her breaths were shallow; either way, she was breathing and that was good.

Now that Verai was actually looking at the Night Fury, she could see a very painful looking gash over one of her eyes; the poor Night Fury must be blind in that eye now, Verai guessed. There were others wounds here and there, the majority of them large and painful looking. A few of the larger ones were still bleeding, although not that much. The Night Fury was just lucky Verai found her before sharks smelled the blood that'd been surrounding her.

Verai backed up quickly, wings flicking upwards warily as the Night Fury shifted sharply, a pained hiss sounding from the now moving figure. Rahia jerked sharply, her tail-fins pressing down, completely flat, while her good eye snapped open. Verai cautiously padded around the Night Fury so that she was standing next her head, leaning down and carefully managing to shift the Night Fury onto her feet. "Are you...okay?" Verai asked, staring intently at the clearly confused Night Fury; Verai knew completely that the Night Fury was in no way 'okay', but she simply needed to know if the Night Fury was capable of speaking or not. The Night Fury stumbled backwards, nodding and mumbling, "I'm okay."

Verai nodded as well, nudging the Night Fury into a sitting position- she honestly looked like she was going to fall over at any moment. "I'm Verai," Verai continued, inspecting Rahia's wounds; Verai had learned to treat wounds from her now late mother, so Rahia's wounds wouldn't get infected at least. The Night Fury nodded blankly, seeming unfocused to everything. "Can you tell me your name?" Verai prompted, lightly tapping one of the Night Fury's wounds on her shoulder. The Night Fury flinched before replying. "I don't know; I don't know it," the Night Fury mumbled. Verai nodded- this Night Fury had amnesia then. Not good, not at all. Especially not if she couldn't even remember her own name.

"I'll call you Storm for now then," Veria mumbled, sniffing at a possibly infected wound on the Night Fury- Storm's neck. "Can you remember any names? Other than mine." Storm-Rahia frowned, shuffling her front paws in confusion. "Drea.. Dream. Someone named Dream. Something named Dream," Storm-Rahia wailed, flailing her wings frantically in utter confusion.

"Calm down, calm down! Can you remember anything about this Dream person?" Verai demanded quickly, reaching out and lightly pressing on Storm-Rahia's wings to keep them still. "Purple- purple and blue, they were purple and blue and I knew them and they helped me," Storm-Rahia mumbled. Verai nodded; regarding Storm-Rahia's wounds, only a few minor ones were infected. "Just try to stay calm. I'll help you find this Dream person, and once we find them, we'll help you remember things, okay?" Verai replied, her voice wavering very slightly; Storm-Rahia had been caught in a, well, storm and the possibility of finding this person was very low.

Storm-Rahia nodded, seeming comforted by that and awkwardly pushed herself into a standing position. She looked very tired, and Verai honestly couldn't blame her. Storm-Rahia had been caught in a storm, was heavily injured, had salt water in her wounds for most likely quite a while, and now had amnesia. Storm-Rahia had every right in the world to be tired.

Verai nudged Storm-Rahia up the sandy shoreline; further up was a massive expanse of trees, each pressed close together. It took a good half an hour for Storm-Rahia to stumble her way to the cluster of trees, having tripped at least eighty times from being so disorientated.

Storm-Rahia pressed herself close against a large tree, hidden slightly by an overgrown bush. Veria curled up beside her while Storm-Rahia fell asleep almost immediately. Verai carefully draped one wing over the Night Fury, glancing around warily. She'd have to keep Storm-Rahia safe; the poor Night Fury clearly was in no condition to take care of herself at the moment. Verai shifted slightly, pressing her nose against Storm-Rahia's right ear-fin. Said ear-fin twitched slightly, though Storm-Rahia didn't actually wake up.

Storm-Rahia would be safe, she'd meet her friend 'Dream' again, she'd get her memories back, and everything would be fine from there.

Verai hoped it would be, anyways.
